Let’s explore some commonly asked questions about our homebuilding franchise program.
Ideally, we seek builders who are ready to scale their businesses. We will also consider candidates who have had sufficient current or past exposure to construction or building. This may include builders, framers, architects, skilled tradespeople, etc. Anyone familiar with the industry and with the drive to work hard and take advantage of this homebuilding franchise opportunity is welcomed. More than anything, we are looking for financially qualified individuals who are enthusiastic about the View Homes brand and philosophy and who want to build exciting futures in their local areas.
We are excited to help you grow your business and have abundant resources and expertise to do just that. There is a $15,000 pre-opening initial training fee. View Homes will provide a pre-opening, online training course. We will then invite the franchisee for one week to Colorado Springs, where they will learn about View Homes project management, purchasing, quoting, sales, warranties, marketing, accounting, reporting, and software platforms. A View Homes representative will also visit the franchisee onsite at the onset of their launch, as well as two other onsite visits of three days each per year to assist as needed. In addition, you will have access to our exclusive confidential operations manual to help run your homebuilding franchise properly on a day-to-day basis.
The total initial investment necessary to begin operations ranges from $540,925 to $851,315 with land ($234,925 to $311,315 without) per start-up location. This includes a $65,000 initial franchise fee for a single unit agreement.
We do not provide direct financing to franchise owners, but we may refer to financing sources on a case-by-case basis.
We charge a royalty fee equal to 2% of total gross sales at each home closing, and a technology fee of approximately $550/month, with an increase to up to $3,300/month by Year 5. Fees such as these allow us to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of product and supply channels, marketing tools, training programs, and systems upgrades. View Homes franchise owners will need to spend $6,000 to $10,000 on their grand opening, followed up by the greater of $1,000 per month or 0.25% of revenues. They will also contribute 0.25% of Gross Revenues, which can be increased up to 2%, into the system marketing fund. Collected funds will be used to develop marketing strategies to promote the View Homes brand.
The initial term of your agreement is ten years, with two subsequent successor agreement options of five years each.
